Beautiful Ruby - Baby and Children's Portraits, Grimsby

Today I had a day off from the usual customer sessions/editing as I was spending the day looking after my gorgeous 9 month old niece Ruby, So we decided to pass some of the day away by trying out my new backdrop, Which I will be using for some of my christmas mini sessions at the end of the month,

Tell me what you think, Have to say I think she is pretty beautiful, but I am very bias ;)

Image sizes.....Bigger is better!

After having alot of enquiries when it comes to print/product orders I decided to do a quick blog post and include an image which shows you how much difference a larger image can make.

In the case of fine wall art, bigger is most definately better,
The bigger the image the bigger the impact,
Take a look at this image and let me know which size you think you would prefer on a wall in your home!

If you are proud of your images then invest in a larger piece of wall art and make a statement.

Colour or Black & White?!

So one of my biggest problems when ordering personal images of my kiddies is whether to go for colour or black and white.
Such a hard decision with some images, where as with others straight away from the first glance you can see which looks better,

Here are a few images from recent sessions which I have struggled to choose between so clients have been given the choice within their proofing galleries,

So which do you prefer for your images,
Colour or Black and white?

1st Birthday Cake Smashes | Grimsby

Since I first started doing my 1st birthday cake smash sessions they have become very popular, My first ever cake smash session was October 2011 and in just under a year I have lost count of how many 1st birthday's I have had the pleasure of celebrating!

So today I decided to share some of my recent cake smashes with you, I should then be on top of my session blogging, for now anyway!!

First up is little lady Lily, At first Lily got stuck right in and was enjoying her scrummy cake but she soon decided that she had had enough, so out came the wooden spoon and she was happy to carry on, Check her out.....

Next up is Alfie, In typical boy style he jumped straight in and enjoyed making such a mess, but of course we didnt mind ;)

Theo came for his cake smash on his actual birthday, and boy did he celebrate.....He really enjoyed smashing his cake up but I do believe mum had given him a practise run ;)

And last up is cheeky chappy Stanley, he was another who didn't seem to keen at first, so of course out came that wooden spoon again and he soon dug in.....although I think he enjoyed getting mum more messy than himself, but he sure had fun!

Twins Denny & Damion { Newborn Photography } | Grimsby

First blog sneak on my new blog and I decided to start with todays session.
A few months back I put a call out for newborn twins after only ever doing 1 set of twins so far
I decided I needed to have some more experience under my belt.

Today I met 5 week old identical twins Denny and Damion, both still very tiny too.
Now I won't say the session was easy as boy they didn't
half make me work but I really enjoyed the
challenge of getting 2 babies to be asleep and settled
at the same time, and unbelievably it was achieved a few
times after some serious milk drinking, Plus I just loved
grabbing some snuggles off them both too hehe,

So here are Denny and Damion, and I am sure you will agree
they are super cute....and very identical haha!

New Name New Blog......

So as you have probably noticed I have changed my business name,
I did this for a number of reasons but mainly because I wanted my business
to be personal to me, so what easier way than to use my own name!

I wasn't sure whether to take the leap or not but figured if I was to be truely
happy with my business it was better to do it sooner rather than later.
So here I am no longer JLD Portrait Photography but Jodie Leigh Photography

Of course I am the same person, behind the same camera with the same eye for
capturing those precious moments.

I will be back later to share some of my favourite recent images and get this blog rolling :)
